Sept. 24 - county council.

* Approval was granted for application ZBA30/13/RA from Deborah Clark, on behalf of the estate of Colleen Clark, owner of 237 McGill Rd., Brantford township, to rezone the lands from special provision Agricultural to Agricultural (A) and Village Residential (VR).

* Approval was granted for application ZBA28/13/AE from Dale Longstreet, owner of 773 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Brantford township, to rezone the lands from Village Residential (VR) to Village Residential with a Special Exception to permit a total area of all accessory structures of 185 square metres whereas 93 square metres was permitted, and a height of 5.5 metres whereas 4.5 metres was permitted.

* Approval was granted for application ZBA26/13/AE from James Douglas, owner of 1198 County Highway 54, Onondaga township, to rezone the lands from Village Residential (VR) to Village Residential with a special exception to allow for an accessory structure with a height of 5.4 metres whereas 4.5 metres was permitted, and with an area of 154 square metres whereas 93 square metres was permitted and would exceed the gross floor area of the principle structure being the single detached dwelling.

* Approval was granted for application ZBA25/13/MD from Pat Wood, owner of 193 Langford Church Rd., Brantford township, to rezone a portion of the subject lands from Agricultural (A) to Estate Residential (ER) in order to facilitate a lot addition to an adjacent residential lot at 197 Langford Church Rd.

* Approval was granted for application ZBA23/13/RA, from Hildrian Farms, owner of 93 County Highway 5, South Dumfries township, to rezone the lands from Agricultural (A) to Agricultural with special exception (A-9) to prohibit a dwelling unit.

* Approval was granted for a request from Randy Rive, owner of land on east side of Kitson Road, Brantford township, for relief from fees paid for minor variance application A15/13/AE in the form of a grant to Rive representing 50 per cent of the fees.

* The county will not send representation to the Ontario Municipal Board hearing for the appeal filed by Andreas Schmidt, 501 Blue Lake Rd., for Application ZBA10/12, respecting a refusal for Planning Advisory Committee decision on the application made on May 16, 2012.

* The mandate of the Trees Conservation Committee was expanded to include the following areas:

* responsibility for the Millennium Grow Green program;

* promotion of forest health, and increasing tree canopy;

* maintenance guidelines for roadside and park trees;

* sustainable management of the county-owned forests;

* appropriate staff commitments to forestry in the county;

* liaison with other jurisdictions around forest conservation.

* Approval was grant for an internal firefighter station transfer for Allan Dickenson from Onondaga Station 6 to Mount Pleasant Station 5.

* Oct. 1, 2013 was proclaimed National Seniors' Day. Fees for the county's drop-in skating and Fitness for Seniors programs would be waived that day.

* Four pieces of skatepark equipment would be re-deployed to other skatepark locations, one decommissioned due to age and condition, and two pieces reinstalled on the asphalt beside the Optimist Skate Park. The metal skateboard equipment had been removed from the Syl Apps in 2012 due to the construction of the new concrete skatepark, some equipment had been re-deployed to Forest Drive Park, and some equipment had been in storage for about a year.

* Scooters would be permitted at the existing skateparks. Staff would create a marketing campaign to educate the scooter community about safety, rules, and etiquette at skateparks.

* "PWT 3-13, Paris Wastewater SCADA System Implementation" was awarded Procon Niagara, a Division of 1149855 Ontario Inc. for $1,266,759.34 plus HST.

* The parking bylaw was amended to on Powerline Road to include no stopping 110 metres on the east side of Paris Road from 200 metres north of Powerline Road to 310 metres north of Powerline Road;

* and no stopping on the west side of Paris Road from Powerline Road to a point 310 metres north of Powerline Road;

* Staff will issue a Request to Prequalify for "LED Street Lighting Upgrade" vendors who would then be invited to respond to a Request for Proposal for the acquisition of a "turn-key" LED Street Lighting solution.

* Stop signs will be installed for northbound and southbound motorists at the intersection of Brant School Road and Old Onondaga Road East.

* An RFP will be issued for the St. George Water and Wastewater Servicing Municipal Class Environmental Assessments to the three previously short-listed proponents--R.V. Anderson Limited, MTE Consultants Inc. and Cima Canada Inc. The St. George Area Study had progressed to the point where staff could support the issuance of the Request for Proposal for the St. George Water and Wastewater Servicing Municipal Class Environmental Assessments.

* Approval was granted for a one-year extension to the appointment of the Brant 4-H Association as the volunteer committee of management for the Bethel Community Centre, 157 Bethel Rd.

* Brant Economic Development Advisory Committee membership terms scheduled to expire January, 2014 will be extended until the end of 2014. Memberships will continue to be either two or four-year terms.

* Stantec will finalize the design for the Sharp Road Business Park and submit formal applications for the rezoning and subdivision of the county owned lands to the Planning Advisory Committee. The project for the Sharp Road construction to Dundas Street East will be a capital project for 2014 budget deliberations.

* Approval was granted for Committee of Adjustment application B34/13/RA from Roy and Janet Armes, owners of 492 Baptist Church Rd., Onondaga township. The applicants severed a surplus farm dwelling. The severed parcel will have frontage of about 39 metres with an area of.28 hectares and the retained parcel will have an area of 38.2 hectares. Both the severed and retained parcel contain an existing single detached dwelling.

* Approval was granted for Committee of Adjustment application B35/13/RA from Deborah Clark on behalf of the estate of Colleen Clark, owner of lands at 237 McGill Rd., Brantford township. The applicant proposed a lot line adjustment. The severed parcel will have frontage of about 69 metres with an area of 2.6 hectares which will be consolidated with land at 241 McGill Rd. The retained parcel will have a frontage of 64 metres and an area of 1.41 hectares.

* Approval was granted for Committee of Adjustment application B36/13/MD from J.H Cohoon Engineering Limited on behalf of Tigercat International Inc., owner of 140 Consolidated Dr., Paris. The applicant proposed a lot line adjustment. The severed lands will have frontage of 15.24 metres and an area of 0.23 hectares. The retained lands will have a frontage of 514 metres with an area of 87 hectares. The lands to be severed will be consolidated with the adjacent lands to the east at 100 Consolidated Dr.
