Senior doctors team to check dengue patients at PIMS.
"The patients having symptoms of sudden fever, headache, dry, cough, sneezing, loss of appetite, aching muscles, limb or joint pain, sore throat, runny or blocked nose and difficulty in sleeping should immediately consult this team", Director, Social Welfare (PIMS), Dr. Waseem Khawaja said here on Friday.
"If this virus is not timely treated, it could cause throat and chest infections besides bacterial pneumonia and dehydration," he said while talking to Media.
He also urged the people to clean hands with soap and water to prevent themselves a number of diseases.
Dr. Khawaja termed drains, open manholes, garbage on public places as the biggest challenge for the Capital Development Authority (CDA) which threaten health of the citizens.
Appreciating the anti-dengue drive, he said this campaign would help control spread of diseases through mosquitoes like dengue, malaria, throat and skin diseases.
It may be mentioned here that District Health Department, Islamabad, has launched a 10-day anti-dengue drive in the rural areas of Islamabad which will continue up to May 25.
Under the campaign, as many as five teams have been constituted for conducting door to door fumigation and residual spray in the rural areas.
Fumigation would be conducted in all areas including Bhara Kau, Sihala, Tarlai, Shah Allah Ditta and Rawat.
