Senior MP: Regional Nations to Stand against US, Zionists' Expansionism.

Summary: TEHRAN (FNA)- Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi in a meeting with his Algerian counterpart Bel-Qassem Bel-Abbas underlined that the regional nations will stand against the US and the Zionist regime's expansionist policies.

"The goal of the US policies is to change the power balance to the loss of the resistance axis in the region and to weaken the Islamic world, but these policies have failed due to the regional nations' resistance," Boroujerdi said during the meeting in Tehran on Monday.

"The regional nations will stand against the US and the Zionist regime's expansionist policies," he added.

In relevant remarks in May, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a meeting with Sudanese Presidential Advisor Mustafa Osman Ismail in Tehran also called on independent countries to reinvigorate unity and support each other against the expansionist powers.

"Today the arrogant powers and the enemies of humanity have exerted pressure on independent nations and governments, including Iran and Sudan," Ahmadinejad said.

"In such conditions, it is the duty of all independent nations and governments to stand against the expansionists through their sympathy, brotherhood and support for each other since such conditions are not everlasting and nations will certainly succeed in future through patience, resistance and reliance on God," he added.
