The Swedish baby foods producer Semper AB said on Wednesday (6 July) that it had agreed to acquire a 49% stake in the Norwegian baby foods company Smafolk i Norge from the dairy group Tine BA.

The agreement also gives Semper the option to acquire the remaining shares.

The acquisition is part of Semper's strategy of expanding in the Nordic region.

Smafolk i Norge is Norway's second largest baby foods brand.

No financial details were disclosed.
