Seminar to analyse macroeconomic crises.

MANAMA: The Bahrain Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (BCICAI) is hosting a seminar on macroeconomic disasters, finance and optimal currency areas this evening at the Hotel Diva, Juffair.

For the session starting 7.30pm, BCICAI is joining hands with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance to have a presentation by Professor Sudhakar Raju, a visiting professor from Harvard University.

This presentation explores some of the behavioural and psychological aspects underlying the financial crisis including such notions as cognitive dissonance, incentives and pattern recognition.

These are applied to past macroeconomic crises.

The presentation also explores the theory of optimal currency areas and its relevance to the euro debt crisis.
