Sell off land handed over in the old days.

THE Government should not be selling off the forest, they should be selling the millions of acres of land that dukes and lords and the like are hanging on to, but do not own.

Their forefathers were given the use of the land on the understanding they would provide an army in time of war. They ducked out of this a long time ago so it should be taken from them without any compensation and sold for the good of the country.

All allowances to the House of Lords should be stopped. It is ridiculous to give them pounds 300 a day for attending when they expect an OAP to live on about a third of this for a week.
