Seizure Response Dog Delivered by SDWR to a Very Lucky Man in West Haven, CT.

West Haven, CT, August 21, 2019 --(PR.com)-- Kyle has received a very special delivery of his very own Service Dog from SDWR. Kyle's service dog, Steil will be able to accompany him everywhere thanks to the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Kyle has struggled with the symptoms of his epilepsy diagnosis for over ten years. Losing consciousness and multiple hospital visits have left Kyle and his family worried about his independence and safety. With his Seizure Response Dog, Steil by his side, Kyle and his family are very hopeful he can enjoy the things in life he has always enjoyed such as working out, spending time outdoors and spending time with his family and friends with the added peace of mind Steil will bring.

SDWR will continue to work with Kyle, his family and Steil in their home environment, to train for specific needs he may have. What makes SDWR so unique from other nonprofit service dog organizations is this highly customized and tailored training program. SDWR trainers will continue to return for training sessions with Kyle, his family and Steil every 3-4 months during the next 18 months to make a successful team and gain public access certification.

As an honored graduate of the SDWR Fallen Officer Puppy Program (FOPP), the service dog is named after fallen hero Sergeant Kenneth Steil of the Detroit Police Department, Michigan. Sergeant Steil had served on the Detroit Police Department for 20 years. FOPP is an initiative by SDWR to pay respect to the legacy of service by fallen American police who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Seizure Response Service Dog, Steil's work with Kyle will carry on in memoriam of Sergeant Kenneth Steil's life of service before self.
