Security review of jails on southern borders sought.

Islamabad -- Intelligence agencies have warned the government to review the security system of the prisoner jails situated on southern borders of the country.

High security zones, they suggested, must be established near all these jails.

Reliable sources told that intelligence agencies in their report have informed the government that an incident of jail break like that of Bannu could happen again and extremist forces can target the jails located on the southern borders of the country.

They urged the government to review the security of all such jails on priority basis so that repeat of Bannu jail incident does not occur.

The report also revealed that the jails in Dera Ismail Khan, Quetta, Peshawar and in other areas of Balochistan and KPK provinces can be an easy target for militants.

The report was issued just after the Bannu jail attacks in which militants managed to free more than 390 prisoners including those on death row and most wanted criminals.
