Security news and products; Trend Micro OfficeScan available as beta version for Microsoft's Windows Vista RTM.
Offered originally in May through participation with Microsoft's Technology Adoption Program (TAP), the Trend Micro OfficeScan beta for Windows Vista beta version of Trend Micro OfficeScan 7.8 is immediately available for download through the Trend Micro public website at: http://vistaresponse.trendmicro.com "Microsoft is committed to providing customers the most secure version of Windows yet with Windows Vista, and we see our partners as an important part of this commitment," said Mike Sievert, corporate vice president, Windows at Microsoft. "We're pleased that Trend Micro has stepped forward to add OfficeScan 7.8 beta for corporate desktops to its portfolio of available Windows client security products currently in development."
Within 90 days of the general availability for Windows Vista, Trend Micro plans to launch Trend Micro OfficeScan version 8.0 which, among other new and enhanced capabilities, will include full support for Windows Vista. But to support the range of customer types who will be purchasing or evaluating Windows Vista over the next several months.
