10 July 2014 - US software security assessment and training company Security Innovation Inc said today it had acquired domestic information security and developer training specialist Safelight Security for an undisclosed amount.

Safelight, which was co-founded by Michael Maziarz, provides a full range of instructor-led and on-demand courses for development, IT and general staff. The company's personnel will stay with the business and its product line will remain unchanged in the short-term and serve as an integral part of Security Innovation's information security training division.

This transaction is the next step in a strategy to educate software teams and personnel on important security topics and to help them achieve their security goals, Security Innovation said.

Furthermore, the deal strengthens the company's reach in the application security training segment and substantially enhances its ability to offer complete training solutions to information security and IT risk organization, it explained.
