Secret of Blair cop quiz No3; PRIME MINISTER BROWN: DAY 1.
TONY Blair was secretly questioned a third time by cops investigating the cash-for-honours scandal, it was revealed yesterday.
His aides are said to have pressurised the police to put a news blackout on the interview, fearing it would have overshadowed his final days in office.
There were even claims last night No 10 warned Scotland Yard Mr Blair would resign early if they released the details.
Scotland Yard refused to comment on the reports, which are strenuously denied by senior Government sources.
But SNP MP Angus MacNeil said: "Nobody is above the law and it is vital that the police are allowed to continue with their investigations."
Mr Blair was quizzed as a witness, not as a suspect.
Former aides Lord Levy and Ruth Turner, along with Labour donor Sir Christopher Evans, have been arrested and bailed.
