Secret door in the bookcase.
A secondary door to the master bedroom was too handy to lose, but it would have taken space away from the planned library wall. Now, the door is built into the roomwide bookcase.
Door-mounted shelves are offset just enough to clear adjacent shelves as the door swings open. Precise clearance also helps to disguise the evidence of a portal; the trim by the door jamb is beveled to make the seam fit tight when the door is closed.
