WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2003

Woodfield Capital, a provider of senior loans to domestic companies who qualify for and rely upon senior debt to finance their operations, today announced the appointment of Stewart Holmes as director of origination. Holmes will oversee client management for Woodfield Capital, which was launched earlier this year to address the growing gap between supply and demand in the senior debt marketplace.

"In launching Woodfield Capital, I knew our success would depend on building a team of seasoned professionals who know this business inside and out," said John Fox, Woodfield Capital's founder and senior managing director. "Stewart adds both strength and depth to our commercial lending team."

Holmes brings a wealth of experience to Woodfield Capital that spans debt and equity capital markets. Previously, he spent nine years at Wachovia Corporation in various roles. Most recently, Holmes served as a relationship officer marketing a full range of corporate and investment banking products to middle market and large corporations. He holds NASD securities licenses as a General Securities Representative and a Uniform Securities Agent.

A native of Lakeland, Fla., Holmes began his career as a fixed income securities professional in Wachovia's Capital Markets division, where he honed his analytical skills for understanding market conditions and prescribing solutions to institutional and individual clients. Subsequently, he was promoted to vice president and developed a new product offering for Wachovia in investment grade corporate debt. In this role, Holmes developed strong corporate relationships across the industry spectrum, and published weekly commentary to over 150 corporate clients on the corporate debt marketplace.

"This is a great opportunity to join a promising company with a smart, aggressive growth strategy at the ground level," said Holmes. "My expertise will help Woodfield Capital grow and bring a contemporary approach to a traditional business as providers of senior debt."

Holmes received a bachelor of science degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, West Virginia and a masters in business administration from Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
