Second Chicago man sentenced for East Dundee, Hampshire gas station robberies.

A second 20-year-old Chicago resident was sentenced for his role in two gas station robberies the night of May 14, 2017, according to a news release from the Kane County state's attorney's office.

Brian D. Ormand, of the 12000 block of South Throop Street, pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of armed robbery, according to the release. He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

Damarcus D. Gilmore pleaded guilty Feb. 15 and faces 21 years imprisonment, according to the release.

Ormand, Gilmore and two others entered a Speedway gas station in Hampshire shortly before midnight, Ormand served as the lookout while Gilmore pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded cash, the release said.

Another man stayed outside to serve as the getaway driver.

The men left the gas station with more than $500 in cash, scratch-off tickets and cigarettes, according to the release. The men later stopped at a Thornton's gas station in East Dundee where again, Gilmore pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded cash, the release said. They left that store with more than $700 in cash, scratch-off tickets, cigarettes and the clerk's cellphone, according to the release.

Around 2:30 a.m. they were pulled over by Illinois State Police for a speeding violation on I-90, the state trooper found the stolen property and a 9mm handgun and placed them under arrest, the release said.

Both Gilmore and Ormand will receive credit for 21 months already served in Kane County jail, the release said.

Three others, including two 17-year-old juveniles, were also charged in the robberies.
