Sears files amended forms 10-K and 10-Q.

SEARS FILES AMENDED FORMS 10-K AND 10-Q: As a result of the Securities and Exchange Commission's review of filings related to the pending merger of Kmart Holding Corp. and Sears, Roebuck and Co., Sears is filing amended Form 10-K and Form 10-Q for the fiscal years ended January 3, 2004, December 28, 2002, and December 29, 2001, as well as the 13-, 26- and 39-week periods ended March 29, 2003, June 28, 2003, and September 27, 2003, respectively. The amendments correct an error in the consolidated statements of cash flows related to the company's domestic credit card business, which was divested in 2003. The change does not affect net income, results of operations, financial condition, or net changes in cash and cash equivalents for any of the periods presented.
