Provider of storage solutions Seagate Technology plc (Nasdaq:STX) announced on Wednesday the authorisation by its board of directors for repurchase up to USD2.5bn of its outstanding ordinary shares.

As a result of this authorisation, Seagate currently has an aggregate authority to repurchase approximately USD3.1bn of its ordinary shares.

Reportedly, share repurchases under this authorisation may be made through a variety of methods, which may include open market purchases, privately negotiated transactions, block trades, accelerated share repurchase transactions, or by any combination of such methods.
