Scouts' honour.

Community Challenge is about to swing into action after the announcement of our first winner.

After scores of entries flooded in, our judges have now chosen the first group that will have their building dreams realised for free.

Work will begin next month on the headquarters of Whitley Bay Scout Group with a new disabled access top of their wish list.

We will be announcing five more lucky winners over the coming weeks with work set to take place throughout the summer.

Robin Cairns is Rok business development manager and will be offering skilled services and providing the materials to get the job done.

He said: "Our philosophy is that charity begins at home and we're keen to put our fundraising efforts into helping the groups which do so much to make our neighbourhoods better places to live."
