The skinny: Minnesota lost to 4-3 to Arizona in overtime Thursday after building a 3-0 lead in the first 30 minutes. The Coyotes have the worst record in the NHL at 13-32-9. "I don't know how to explain it. It shouldn't happen. It can't happen," Wild forward Zach Parise told reporters. "Right now in the race that we're a going to be in for the rest of the year, it's a tough point to lose." Going into Friday's games, the Wild was 1 point ahead of the Kings and 2 points ahead of Colorado and Anaheim for the second wild-card spot. a Eric Staal leads Minnesota with 24 goals. He has 5 in the last seven games. a The Hawks and Wild have split their four meetings this season.
