Scouse pair live to sing another day; NEWS WIRE.
SCOUSE X Factor hopefuls Tom and Laura made it through to the judges' houses stage of the competition.
The duo, who hit the headlines when Simon Cowell tried to split them up during their audition, wowed the judges with their rendition of Candi Staton's Young Hearts for the famously cut-throat "Six Chair Challenge".
Speaking before their performance, a nervouslooking Tom told the judges: "We might not look like pop stars or anything like that, but we want to show that ordinary people can have a successful career as well."
Laura, who wore a floaty bohemian-style dress and flowers in her hair, impressed the judges with her vocals after previously being criticised and labelled the weaker of the two.
After their performance, judge Nicole Scherzinger showered her with praise.
She said: "Tom, when you dance you just make me feel happy deep down inside. Laura, your vocals have grown so much in this competition."
