INSULATION - Proper insulation stops up to 25% of the heat in a house disappearing through the roof, and a further 35% being lost through the wallsDid you know? The amount of heat lost in UK homes annually, through loft spaces and walls, is enough to heat five million homes for a year
Lighting - One energy-saving light bulb uses up to 80% less electricity than an ordinary bulb, and saves pounds 7 a year
If every household in the UK fitted just one low energy light bulb, enough electricity would be saved to power lighting in three millions homes for a year

An incredible 95% of the energy used by mobile phone chargers is wasted when the charger is plugged into the wall but not switched off at the socket
Hot water - For around only pounds 10, insulate your hot water cylinder with a lagging jacket - it should pay for itself in less than a year!
Appliances - Replacing your old electrical appliances with those rated A or above for energy efficiency cuts down on harmful CO2 emissions and could save you money on running costs
