Scots in top slot down at off-sales.

An off-sales survey shows that Scots spend more on beer, wine and spirits than anyone else in Britain.

They splash out up to TEN times more on weekend carryouts.

And Victoria Wine say their Glasgow and Edinburgh stores take first and second places as the country's busiest.

But Glaswegians visit their local off-sales SIX times more than their Edinburgh counterparts.

Supposedly stingy Aberdeen is ninth in the top ten drinkers' league, ahead of Liverpool.

And while London has 27 more Victoria Wine shops than Glasgow, they sell 30 per cent less beer.
