Scissor lifts use AC motor drive for lower maintenance costs.

Five new models of AICHI scissor lifts--with 19- to 32-foot platform heights and 30- to 46-inch platform widths--are equipped with Toyota's AC motor drive system for lower maintenance costs and double the operating time of a hydraulic drive system. Outfitted with 220-amp-hour batteries for extended operating time, higher efficiency and productivity, the lifts are engineered with a reduced weight for faster maximum lift speeds. For stability, they feature a long wheelbase and low center of gravity. New three-stage scissor links enable easier entry and exit on a lowered platform, while a lowered height 19-foot model can fit through a standard doorway.
