The Los Banos Science Community Foundation, Inc. (LBSCFI), a science community established by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), is calling for nominations of individuals and groups for this year's LBSCFI Youth Science Award (YSA).
Edwin C. Villar, chair of the LBSCFI Research and Development Awards Committee and acting Deputy Executive Director for Research and Development, Philippine Council for Agriculture and Aquatic Resources Research and Development (PCARRD) said the goal of YSA is to recognize the efforts of students who engage in science & technology (S&T).
The award also wishes to motivate the youth to engage in S&T and recognize award-winning innovations, thus inspire others to strive for excellence, added Villar.
YSA is open to all bonafide students from Junior, Senior and College level within the Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) Region who may have exemplary entries.
The award may be conferred to an individual or group presently enrolled and in good standing in any Calabarzon educational institution.
Good moral character is a must and those who have current or previous nominations to similar or other awards are still eligible to join.
All nominations must be addressed to and received by Villar, with the following documentary requirements: endorsement from school, student's profile, copies of previous award/s (if any), certificate of good standing and certificate of originality.
Winners will receive a cash prize and a plaque of recognition, while non-winning entries will get a consolation prize plus certificate of appreciation.
Deadline for entries is on May 31.
