Schools project passes on lifesaving skills.

WELSH Hearts are delighted to be working with Dr Gareth Roberts on The Saving Lives In Welsh Schools Project backed by Julie Morgan AM.

Dr Roberts is an anaesthetic and intensive care registrar working in Wales. He is very passionate about basic life support teaching in all Welsh schools. He also sees the incredible difference that bystanders can make to patient survival. With the backing of the Welsh Hearts charity, this project will teach important life support skills to schools.

It is unique in that it will not only be delivered by anaesthetic and intensive care doctors who use these skills every day but it will focus on the science behind life support.

Dr Roberts and Welsh Hearts will be visiting schools and spend about an hour running the session in the hope that by teaching it in this manner it will provide a more thorough understanding of basic life support and may even stimulate an interest in medicine among the students.

If your school would like to receive more information, email or call 029 2078 6521.
