School funding crisis.

School funding crisis EVERY young person deserves a properly funded education.

Every school needs enough money to ensure that all of their students' educational needs are met.

Calderdale Against School Cuts believes that money spent on education is a positive investment in all of our futures. Unfortunately our government is creating a funding crisis in Calderdale schools that is ruining the educational opportunities for huge amounts of young people.

88% of Calderdale schools are still facing budget cuts despite the government claiming that more money is going into the education budget.

Not only have our children lost the right to be taught by a qualified teacher, they are also often faced with inadequate buildings, fewer resources and bigger class sizes.

The Institute of Financial Studies calculates that schools budgets will decline in real terms by 4.6% by 2020 while the National Audit Office reports that school costs will rise from 3.4% this year to 8.7% in 2020.

It's the government, not Calderdale Council, that are responsible for these cuts. Cuts which will have a detrimental impact on the quality of our childrens' education and must be reversed.

Our children deserve a properly funded education. If you agree that these cuts must be reversed please add your name to our protest letter on the Calderdale Against School Cuts facebook page.
