The Eugene School District's chief financial officer and director of support services is leaving the district at the end of the month.
Simone Sangster will work until April 30 to help finalize the superintendent's proposed budget, which will be released sometime in May.
She will begin her new position in May as assistant superintendent of finance and operations at the Bellingham Public Schools in Bellingham, Wash.
Andrea Belz, the district's associate director of financial services, will serve as interim chief financial officer, district spokeswoman Kerry Delf said.
Sangster, who was hired by the Eugene district in 2011, previously was assistant superintendent for financial services, operations and school support at the Bellevue School District in Bellevue, Wash. She also worked at the Bainbridge Island School District just outside Seattle and lived in Vancouver, B.C., for a decade.
Her annual salary is $119,950, though she won't receive the full amount because she will be leaving before the end of the year, Delf said. Sangster declined to say how much she will make in her new position.
The Eugene district will accept applications through April 27. The position's annual pay range is advertised between $93,413 to $120,414.
