School Sport: Liverpool Boys to be taught a lesson for new season.

LIVERPOOL SCHOOLS begin the 2005 cricket season with two new team managers - local teachers Steve Jameson (Blue Coat) stepping into the under-15s role and Jonny Horton (SFX) taking over the under-13s side.

Former under-15s manager Jack Harwood takes a step back from frontline duties, but remains involved, while long-time servant Richard Surman continues with the under-11 side Jameson faces a stiff opener to the season with a game against Salford A in the under-15 Ainsworth Cup on May 20.

Horton's team have received a bye in round one of the Hacking Cup, as Preston withdrew, and will begin their campaign at home to Sefton on May 18.

Surman's under-11s are also involved in the BBC Cricket Festivals tomorrow and on May 18Aigburth Cricket Club, who play at Southwood Road, St Michael's in the Hamlet, are on the look out for talented young players to come and play in their Merseyside and Liverpool league teams.
