School Communication Award; Keeping parents informed is key at Archbishop Blanch.
ARCHBISHOP Blanch School puts communication with students, parents and staff at the forefront of all it has done this year. This move has supported one of the school's core values: community.
The challenges presented by a move to new facilities, coupled with the ever changing landscape of curriculum and assessment reform, has meant that the sharing of information is more important than ever. The school has embraced new technology in order to effectively engage parents with school life and their students' learning. They have provided students with new ways to engage with and take responsibility for their learning.
School communications software has been implemented which allows for home-school communication on a variety of fronts, including an online payment portal which allows parents to monitor their child's spending and eating habits at school. The downloadable app enables parents to do this efficiently and at a time convenient for them. A new email system feeds directly into the School Information Management system to allow the emailing of letters, timetables, exams seating charts and reports to individuals and/ or groups of parents and students with ease.
Archbishop Blanch School is the pride of the local community and its successes and achievements have been communicated and celebrated through various print methods.
