School's pounds 240,000 makeover to start.

BUILDERS start a pounds 240,000 revamp of an historic building next month to help to turn it into a community centre.

The workmen from Grosvenor Construction Ltd of Kinmel Bay, a specialist building restoration and conservation company, will begin the refurbishment of Llanrhos Old School on July 4. The Grade II-listed structure was built in 1822.

School project manager Dave Rowley said: "Our Project Group is pleased to have appointed a company based in the county and which is using local, skilled craftsmen."

Due for completion by mid-November, the makeover will include a specially commissioned under-floor heating powered by eco-friendly air sourced boilers, a new toilet and kitchen, a car park and boundary walls. ? To donate furniture or other help, ring Mr Rowley on 01492 572546 or visit
