Schaeffer's Option Skews - Relatively Heavy Call Activity on American International Group Inc and Las Vegas Sands Corp.

CINCINNATI -- American International Group Inc (NYSE: AIG), DryShips Inc. (NASDAQ: DRYS), Dendreon Corp (NASDAQ: DNDN), Visa Inc (NYSE: V), and Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE: LVS) were among the stocks that saw a skew toward call buying on Tuesday.

DryShips, Dendreon, and Visa appeared on yesterday's call scan and here we see the activity continued Tuesday. The action on DRYS and DNDN could be related to short hedging. The optimism on V comes as earnings loom next week.

Las Vegas Sands is another frequent flier on this scan. As discussed Monday, this stock has vacillated between the call scan and my screen for stocks advancing amid heavy short interest. A look to today's action shows the shares could be setting up for another big day. We are only half an hour into the session but the equity is up 12% and challenging its highs from last week.
