Save Our Special day.

Don't know what to wear for a big occasion asion this summer? Scots TV style guru Mark Heyes gives three ladies an emergency makeover over I'm much more confident now LYNN Hague, 57, is a housewife who lives in Edinburgh with husband Ian, 61, a transport manager. They have two daughters, Deborah, 34, and Sharon, 37.

Lynn's dilemma: "I've always been interested in fashion but when the kids were growing up I didn't have any money to spend on myself.

"When my daughters were younger, the last thing I wanted to do was get dolled up and go out, but that's changed. I'm accompanying my husband to an important work event this summer and I need to look glamorous.

"There'll be a lot of important people there and I want to look my best, for myself and for him. I have a confidence now that I didn't have when I was younger, so I'd be happy in bright colours or statement pieces - whatever Mark decides."

Mark says: "Lynn has a fab size 14 figure and the high street is full of dresses that would look great for this event.

"This flattering cobalt blue V-neck design is perfect for a special event and teaming it with the bright blue shoes gives it a modern edge. I couldn't resist adding sparkle with this glitzy box clutch."

The make-up: "We used a foundation and concealer to even out Lynn's skin tone, then added impact to the eyes with a black kohl pencil and lashings of mascara.

"As we had gone heavy on the eye make-up, we chose a subtle, candy pink lipstick."

The hair: "We made the most of Lynn's modern spiky cut but using a little styling wax to separate sections."

Lynn's verdict: "I've always been wary of such a low neckline, but it's really flattering. And I was silly to be nervous about the colour, too - I love it."

GRADUATION CEREMONY SHEENA - MOTHER OF THE BRIDE I want to break old habits SHEENA Whittaker, 59, works in Braes Larder in Falkirk, as a waitress and shop assistant. Her partner, Stevie Grant, 58, is an HGV driver. Sheena has one daughter, Lisa, who lives in Dunblane.

Sheena's dilemma: "I'm about to turn 60 and thought it was time to have a look at how I dress. I tend to go for darker colours and have always dressed for comfort, but I want to break these habits.

"My daughter Lisa is getting married this summer and I'm looking for a fabulous outfit. I'm a size 12 and I want an eye-catching but age-appropriate outfit, one that allows me to dance. I love reading fashion magazines and think other people look great when they take on the trends, but I'm no good at it myself.
