Saudi teachers train at Huawei.
Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, and the Technical and Vocation Training Corporation (TVTC), an organisation overseeing all vocational and technical training programmes within Saudi Arabia, have celebrated the conclusion of an international knowledge-transfer programme held for 20 teachers from TVTC.
The programme comes as part of the long-term strategic partnership between TVTC and Huawei to empower young Saudi students looking to pursue a career in the region's growing IT sector, a statement said.
The two-week programme was hosted by Huawei at its global headquarters in Shenzhen, China, where a diversity of Huawei professors and research experts worked in hand with the TVTC teachers to explore the latest innovations in telecommunication, IT, and unified communication technologies, it said.
As part of the company's commitment to CSR and supporting the government's efforts towards Saudisation in the technology sector, Huawei covered all costs for the training programme for all of the teachers involved, the statement said.
"This latest educational exchange programme between TVTC and Huawei further reinforces the widening cultural and economic relationship between Saudi Arabia and China; a cherished relationship that continues to create great value for the populations of both nations," said Yahya Bin Abdul-Kareem Al-Zaid, the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to China.
Earlier this year, TVTC and Huawei teamed up on an IT cloud training programme for Saudi graduates under a renewable five-year agreement signed at the College of Technology and Information (CTI). There are now 200 applicants under evaluation for the first year contract with Huawei aiming to employ 100 graduates from the training every year, it said. - TradeArabia News Service
