Saudi new ambassador to Washington assumes her duties.

Washington, July 4 (BNA): Princess Rima bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has begun her duties as ambassador to the United States of America.

"Princess Rima bint Bandar began her mission immediately to strengthen the historic partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America," Fahad Nazer, the spokesman of the Kingdom's embassy in Washington, said. He added that the princess will work to develop the strategic relationship and continue to build the main areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The official spokesman of the embassy also said that Princess Rima today presented a copy of her credentials to the US State Department.

Princess Rima is the 11th Ambassador to the United States of America since 1945 and the first Saudi woman to hold this post, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
