Saudi Arabia receives US military reinforcements.

RIYADH, Oct 12 (KUNA) -- In implementation of directives by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is to receive additional troops and military equipment from the United States in the framework of joint action. The reinforcements aim to maintain regional security and address any attempts that threaten stability in the region and the global economy, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday, citing a military source. "The United States joins the Saudi government in maintaining regional and international security," the source said, noting that the Kingdom considers the military partnership with the United States a historic extension of strategic relations. Yesterday, US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper informed Saudi Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud "of the deployment of additional 3,000 forces to Saudi Arabia to enhance its defenses.
