Saudi Arabia,Spain : ACCIONA AGUA to run wastewater treatment plants in MAKKAH province.

Acciona Agua, a water division of Spain s engineering group Acciona, has secured $18.6 million contract to run and maintain wastewater treatment plants in Makkah province.

Saudi construction companies Azziz and Bin Jarallah respectively constructed Haddah-1 and Arena-1 plants, which were finished in 2011. These plants have 375,000m3 daily capacity. A joint venture of Saudi Arabia s Acqa Holding and Acciona Agua has been operating these plants since then.

According to Acciona Agua, the 2-year contract is expected to be widened for upcoming years.

Acciona Agua is expert in the development of reverse osmosis seawater desalination plants. It has constructed over 70 plants worldwide that can generate 1.9 million m3 of water per day.
