Saturday films.

BLOODKNOT (C5, 10.10pm):

A SUPERIOR made-for-TV thriller in which an attractive young woman turns up at a household claiming to be the girlfriend of a now dead son killed in military action.

But is she who she calims she is? Well no, but she, Kate Vernon, starts to ingratiate herself with the mum and the dead man's brother.

Good script and intriguing enough to want to make you stay until the end to find out what is Vernon is really after.

SCREAMERS, (S4C, 1am SUN)

BASED on a book by Phillip K Dick - as were Bladerunner and Robocop - but not a patch on either, even though the lead is played by Robocop main man Peter Weller.

Having said that, Screamers isn't that bad a film and has some gripping action scenes.

Weller plays a soldier trying to talk peace with an Energy company. To reach the talks he has to cross some badlands which are patrolled by sophisticated killer robots called screamers.
