14 January 2016 - US-based Satellite Healthcare, a national not-for-profit provider of dialysis and kidney disease services, has acquired three dialysis centers in Laredo, Texas, the company said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Satellite Healthcare acquired the centres from DSI Renal effective January 1, and they are now known as Satellite Healthcare Laredo, Satellite Healthcare South Laredo, and Satellite Healthcare West Laredo.
The addition of the new locations brings the number of in-center and home therapy facilities the organization operates in Texas to 12.
Dr. Adolfo Garcia, a nephrologist with more than 35 years of experience, will oversee medical operations as the medical director of the three centers.
Garcia joined Satellite Healthcare from DSI, along with a staff of 50. The centers currently serve approximately 250 patients.
Satellite Healthcare currently serves more than 7,000 patients at 82 centres across the country.
