Sat nav thefts warning.

A SPATE of sat nav thefts has triggered a warning to motorists.

Police are urging people to remove satellite navigation systems from Seat Ibizas after a number of break-ins.

The sat nav in a Seat Ibiza car is mounted to the dashboard and can be used in a variety of other vehicles including Seat MII, Volkswagen UP and Skoda Octavia City Go.

Since September there have been 11 thefts of these sat navs from Seat Ibiza cars.

Five of the thefts have happened since Thursday, November 5 and have been concentrated in the Ingleby Barwick and Stillington areas.
