Sasta bazzars to be establish in the holy month of Ramazan.

RAWALPINDI, July 21, 2010 ( Balochistan Times): In the holy month of Ramzan in District Rawalpindi 14 Sasta Ramzan Bazars would be established to give relief to the masses and to provide essential items on cheaper prices. It was decided in a meeting chaired by District Coordination Officer, Rawalpindi Imdad Ullah Bosal. eight Ramzan Bazaars would be setup in Rawalpindi City at Commercial Market, Behari Colony, Haideri Chowk, Nawaz Sharif Park, Committee Chowk, Chungi No. 22, Chuhr Chowk & Gulzar-e-Quaid while one each at Murree, Taxila, Kahuta & Kallar Syeddan and 2 at Gujar Khan City and Doltala. EDO Revenue Zubair Khan, DO Revenue Talat Mehmood Gondal, DFC Babar Khan, SSP Operations Ahmed Hassan Chohan all DDORs & TMOs of the District attended the meeting. The meeting was told that in every Ramzan bazaar dates, potato, Onion, tomato, grams, pulse and basen would be available at subsidized prices these items would be provided at Sasta bazaars directly from whole sale dealers. Aata (flour) would also be provided on subsidized prices and the subsidy would be paid by Government of the Punjab. Flour Mills Management would be bound to provide flour bags on every Sasta bazaar and open sale points made by the district government from where the consumers could get flour bags on cheaper prices after their National ID Cards be punched. The Revenue Staff and flour mills staff would be deputed to sale the flour bags and collect the money from the consumers. It was also decided that a complaint cell would be established in each Ramzaan Bazaar. The separate counters would be made for ladies, old age, sick and disable persons to facilitate them to get flour bags. The counter of health department staff would also be established where the doctors, para medical staff and required medicine would be available throughout the day. DCO directed market committee officials that the items should be available in adequate quantity and quality vegetables and fruits be ensured in all Sasta bazaars to facilitate the consumers till afternoon. The stall holders involved in selling substandard food items would be imposed heavy fines and permits of their stalls would be cancelled immediately, he added.
