Sartomer increases prices of Norsolene, SMA resins.

Sartomer Company will increase the list and off-list prices of its Norsolene hydrocarbon resins by 6 cents per pound as of May 1. This increase is due to the continuing rising costs of raw materials and energy, as well as increasing costs associated with environmental, regulatory and safety issues.

Sartomer's Norsolene hydrocarbon resins are used as raw materials for coatings, adhesives, inks, elastomers and other applications.

Sartomer increased the price of its SMA styrene maleic anhydride resins as of April 15. Powder and flake grades will increase by U.S. $0.11 per pound. Liquid grades will increase by U.S. $0.06 per pound. This represents an increase of 5 to 7 percent in the list prices, depending on the grade.
