Sarah steals a March on Scots rivals with record times; SWIMMING.

SARAH March of Ryton's Thorp Academy achieved lifetime-best times at the Scottish National Short Course Championships in Edinburgh.

The Elite Performer Programme swimmer (pictured left) qualified for the 50 ,100 and 200m breaststroke and was up against swimmers such as GB international Hannah Miley.

March said: "I was really pleased with all my swims but I was especially happy with my 50 breaststroke - I could not quite believe it when I finished in first place in my session."

March started by recording a new pb of 1:17.46 in the 100m and was 16th out of 68 competitors. She finished 50th out of 108 overall.

In the 50m breaststroke she achieved a pb of 34.48.

She was first from 95 competitors in her session and that placed her 22nd out of 134 overall.

In the 200m breaststroke she achieved a new time of 2:44.82 and was fifth of 51 competitors.
