British provider of financial services Santander UK on Friday reported that the Santander Foundation has donated GBP5,000 to Headway Wearside
Headway Wearside received GBP5,000 towards its "Look Ahead in the North" event for brain injury survivors in Sunderland and the surrounding areas from the Santander Foundation, which offers grants to UK registered charities for projects that help disadvantaged people in local communitites.
Residential event, "Look Ahead in the North", brings together 116 members of Headway groups and branches from all over the north east, allowing brain injury survivors and their carers to develop new friendships and strengthen existing ones in a safe and relaxing place. During the event survivors will also be able to take part in a range of activities such as alternative therapy and aromatherapy sessions, as well as king swing, high ropes, archery and a climbing wall.
Branch director at Santander's Sunderland Waterloo Place branch, Martin Kemp, commented "The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK. Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting Headway Wearside, and hope the donation makes a real difference to local people."
