Santa sit-in.

A DAY-trip to see Santa in I Lapland ended in a mass pas-senger sit-in last night when the airline terminated a London-bound flight at Manchester.

The Santa flight from Ivalo was scheduled to stop at Manchester to disembark half of its 200 passengers, then fly on to Gatwick for those remaining.

But technical problems forced Monarch to ground the flight at Manchester and told passengers they would be taken to Gatwick by coach instead.

Thirty-five agreed but another 82 refused to disembark and sat in the plane until Monarch agreed in writing to put them on a different flight to Gatwick.
