Santa gets 'heave-ho ho ho'.

SANTA got the sack from iconic department store Clerys yesterday following the takeover this year.

The jolly old man was given his marching orders as part of a protest by Siptu members who were left out of a job following the closure.

Santa read out his own naughty and nice list as a group gathered outside the famous store on Dubin's O'Connell Street.

But don't worry, the real Santa didn't get the heave-ho as he's working hard in the North Pole getting ready for Christmas.

There was widespread shock after the Dublin institution suddenly shut its doors in June, leading to 460 people to lose their jobs.

Clerys was a long-established department store on O'Connell Street in the city.

The business dates from 1853, however, the current building dated from 1922 having been completely destroyed in the 1916 Easter Rising.
