Santa's Sleigh effort raises PS10k for kids.
Dear Editor The Rotary Club of Carse of Stirling would like to thank the people of Stirling (Shirras Brae, Broomridge, Wallace Park, Bannockburn, Cambusbarron, Coney Park, Torbrex, King's Park) for the generous donations made on our annual Santa's Sleigh run around the local areas in December.
The Santa's Sleigh was once again made possible by the loan of a tow vehicle generously supplied by Morrisons Land Rover Stirling and the John Clark Group.
This year we again had fantastic support from a team of helpers from the Prudential at Craigforth and friends of Rotary who boosted our number of collectors going round the doors.
A special mention for the family in the King's Park area who supplied Santa and helpers with hot sausage rolls and Christmas mince pies washed down with a welcome refreshment on a wet and icy night.
We also would like to thank Tesco and Morrisons supermarkets for allowing us to carry out collections at the stores and making us most welcome.
We would also like to thank the generosity of their customers on the days the sleigh was there.
We also took part in party events at Arnold Clark Volvo, Kilgannon Motors, the Linden Inn and the Allan Park Hotel. Many thanks for your donations.
This year's collection raised just over PS10,000 for our Kids Out event in June for 750 young people and carers along with other local children`s charities.
Thanks to everyone who donated and to all who made it possible.
President Robin Mair Rotary Club of Carse of Stirling
