Sanmina-SCI and TrueNorth Avionics collaborate to provide in-cabin telecoms equipment for business aircraft.


Electronics contract manufacturer Sanmina-SCI Corporation (Nasdaq:SANM) and TrueNorth Avionics, a provider of airborne telecommunications solutions for voice, Internet data and Wi-Fi, jointly announced on Thursday that TrueNorth's in-cabin telecoms equipment for business aircraft will be manufactured by Sanmina-SCI at its facility in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

According to TrueNorth its Simphone OpenCabin systems are the most advanced airborne telecommunications systems on the market and are used in leading aircraft. Its software-centric system is said to bring unprecedented reliability, operator control and communications capabilities to business aviation.

Sanmina-SCI said its Ottawa facility has achieved the latest certifications for quality and manufacturing excellence required for highly complex products like Simphone's OpenCabin systems.

Financial details of the partnership were not disclosed.
