Sanix Energy Restarts Operations at Tomakomai Power Plant.
Since the fire was extinguished, we have been making every endeavor to completely restore the power plant to its former state, in accordance with instructions from the related government agencies on safe operation of the facilities. We are pleased to inform you that the plant commenced part of its operations on October 7, 2005 by setting up a temporary fuel supply line as an impermanent measure, as follows:
1. Related government agencies
Oct. 6 Discussion with related government agencies on restarting of operations was concluded.
2. Restarting operations
Oct. 7 One of the two systems of fuel supply lines including boilers restarted operation.
Oct. 8 Power generation restarted.
Moreover, we are now going to begin completely repairing other damaged equipment, and will conduct a sequence of trial operations from early November, with the aim of early restoration and full-fledged operation.
The power plant has taken the fire incident seriously, and plans to review and intensify disaster prevention measures in operating the facility, paying thorough attention to safety measures.
