Sandiganbayan pressed to arraign former Pagcor chief.
State prosecutors have asked the Sandiganbayan Third Division to proceed with the arraignment of former Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) Chairman Efraim Genuino and his co-accused in multiple counts of malversation and graft.
The arraignment of Genuino and his co-accused had to be postponed last September 25 after the graft court decided to resolve first the motions filed by those accused including his Omnibus Motion dated September 12.
The state prosecutors, however, asked the court that the Omnibus Motion of Genuino "be stricken off the records for being a prohibited motion..."
In their Opposition to the Omnibus Motion that they submitted, the prosecution pushed that the arraignment against Genuino and his co-accused "proceed as scheduled" on the last week of November.
The Office of the Ombudsman filed on May 27, 2013 before the Sandiganbayan 19 counts of graft and 20 counts of malversation against Genuino for alleged anomalous releases of Pagcor funds amounting to millions of pesos.
