Samantha must die, say actors.
Plans to put the hit comedy on the big screen were scrapped when Cattrall, who played feisty PR guru Samantha, gave the project the thumbs-down.
But other cast members are said to be so keen for a movie that they are coming up with plans to kill off Samantha.
Willie Garson, who played Carrie's gay friend Stanford, said: "We're heartily disappointed. We miss each other."
Executive producer Michael Patrick King has been receiving the death plots for Samantha from other cast members. He said: "The series ended with pathos and deep emotion, but this would have been big laughs. Now it will never happen."
Cattrall's spokesperson Marvet Britto said: "She would have loved to have done the movie and made a deal to do the movie, but waited as long as possible with no script or start date."
