Sam's Club shifts food merchants.
BENTONVILLE, Ark. -- Sam's Club has made additional changes to its merchandising leadership team, hiring supermarket industry veteran Toby Noiles to serve as senior vice president and general merchandise manager of grocery and beverage.
Noiles replaces Bryant Harris, who has been named senior vice president and general merchandise manager of fresh.
Noiles most recently served as chief merchandising officer for the online grocer Fresh Direct, a company she joined in March. Before that she spent 29 years with Safeway, where she was most recently senior vice president of beverage, snacks, meals and ingredients.
The appointment of Noiles and the other changes were announced in an internal memo distributed from Sam's Club chief merchandising officer John Fumer and chief member officer Tracy Brown.
"We are making a few changes in our merchandising division to ensure that we have our associates, our best resources, focused in the right areas to achieve our company strategy goal of driving relevant merchandise and delivering better value for our members," the memo stated.
Reporting to Noiles are the following vice presidents: Rob Burns, dry grocery; Greg Cathey, regional buying of food and beverage; Racquel Harris, adult beverage; and Ronnie Robinson, tobacco, candy, auto fluids and wholesale trading.
Reporting to Bryant Harris are: Paul Hunt, vice president of freezer/cooler, and Russell Mounce, vice president of produce. The vice president of meat, who had not been named at press-time, will also report to Harris.
